What Is NDIS Housing and How It Works?
NDIS Housing refers to living arrangements that support people with disability who require ongoing assistance with daily activities. Supported Independent Living is funded by the NDIS to provide help with everyday tasks, personal care, and skill development within a home environment.
SIL funding covers the support services, while participants usually contribute to rent and household costs. Supports are delivered in line with each participant’s NDIS plan and are regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet individual needs and goals.
Supported Independent Living Inclusions
Our SIL services may include support with:
• Daily household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Personal care including showering, dressing, and grooming
• Support with medication routines as per care plans
• Overnight support including sleepover or active support where required
• Assistance with daily routines and appointments
• Skill building for independent living and decision making
• Capacity building to increase independence, confidence, and social engagement
All supports are tailored to the individual and delivered with respect and consistency.
Eligibility Criteria
Supported Independent Living may be suitable if you:
• Are an NDIS participant with SIL funding or potential eligibility
• Require regular or 24 hour support to live safely
• Prefer shared or supported accommodation
• Want to build daily living and life skills
• Are seeking a stable long term housing solution
